Today’s poem is about my beloved, Annie. My dog, my best friend, my loyal companion. The thought of losing her makes me cry, and not much makes me cry anymore.

My Beloved Annie~~Poetry~

I don’t want to lose her
.
I can’t stand the thought
.
I need to remember
we are not promised our next breath
.
I cry for her now
and I will cry for her then
.
I can’t accept the fact that there will be an end
.
but with the end will come a new beginning for her
.
and I can’t be selfish by asking her to stay here
.
until the end, and after
.
I will cherish her forever
.
my beloved friend who has been here each day since we met
.
my companion, my pet, my Annie
.
one of the best dogs
.
one of the world’s greatest
.
you will always be at the center of my heart
.
.
I don’t want to hover over Annie with my worries, but she is getting extra love today. She just had her 12th birthday, and that number felt like a sharp slap in the face. She has been with me through some really hard times, and I am so thankful for her.
