Hello, My Poetry and Writing Friends!

.

Hello, my poetry and writing friends. How are you doing? I hope you are well! Thank you for visiting my poetry and writing blog. I appreciate you being here! 🙂

.

Today’s poem centers around a true crime scenario. Not mine, of course, but I watch documentaries on TV with my husband.
.
This poem is not a happy-go-lucky poem, so BEWARE!!!

It’s Not Fair

.

he hid her there for days
wondering what to do
trying to get into someone else’s mind
to know what they might do
.
but this is not natural
.
not a natural craving or a natural problem
.
they are not deserving
of any mercy from the authorities
.
and they don’t deserve to be in hiding
.
the tragedy stays in limbo as the time tick ticks away
.
every second brings him closer to his upcoming judgement day
.
losing his humanity
the day he decided he had the right
to try to destroy another soul
.
for no one can truly be destroyed
.
it wasn’t fair to rob her of her life
or to hold her there as she  bled, suffered, and died
.
and now he deserves to live the rest of his life
behind bars
.
a life lived in punishment for a life taken
.
it’s not even fair, but it at least makes more sense

I get frustrated that criminals who have committed murder get out of prison. I don’t think anyone who kills another in cold blood should be allowed the freedom they took away from their victim(s).

.

Not everyone agrees with me, and that’s OK. We can have different opinions and still coexist.

.

~Thanks for reading, and until next time, stay safe, and be blessed!~ 🙂
