A Hectic Morning

she gets scratched by an orange and white  cat
and the bus is running  fifteen minutes late

she takes a quick drink of almond milk
and grabs a blueberry muffin for the way

walking further down the cemented road
she tries to grab a cheap cab instead

she’s sweating from morning’s stress
and wishes she had stayed in her comfy bed

soon, the bus arrives, and she takes
a seat in the stinky back

behind a long-haired man, playing his guitar
and an annoying  younger couple to her left

she tries not to stare as the couple make
enormous hickeys on each other’s necks

she’s grossed out but quickly blocks it out
because it’s finally time to get off

now into work, she goes, and it becomes
another disaster in the making

until the next morning

she wakes up earlier

and expects a new outcome

she’s changed her perspective
and now want to live it out

no more complaining
and being compelled
to do anything risky
just to entertain herself

she needs to make changes now

because life goes by fast
and she might not have more time

she needs to figure things out

and stop living life as if she were blind

she gets down to the bottom of the source of her pain
lays herself on her bed as she tries to blot out her shame

and contemplates a new way to face the day

she holds these secrets in her heart

and saves them for the next time

and there will be a next time…

~Poetry is NOT dead!~

Sometimes I wonder how people can go to their full-time jobs daily. When I was in the rat race, I felt sick from anxiety every day and being around my co-workers and bosses felt like daily torture.

I am happy to be safe at home, writing, and leaving the world’s chaos behind.

~Thanks for reading! Until next time, stay safe, and be blessed!~ 🙂
