I waited for you
writing you love letters
even before we met
I knew I wanted you
and couldn’t keep you
only as my friend
now many years have past
and our love is going strong
I know with full certainty
this is where I belong

it’s not just my life
because I share it with you
these aren’t just my thoughts
because you are a part of them too
we mesh together like icing on a cake
we showed all those fools we didn’t make a mistake
