Never To Be Seen Again

sketching the seams of her
silk dress with her slender fingers
the softness caresses her skin
she likes to live for guilty pleasures
and absolutely always has to win

creeping, crawling in the hallway
a presence enters in
she screams and runs
around the house
starts breaking everything
trying to throw things at a ghost
that she can’t hurt
but doesn’t know it

when finally realizing
her actions were in vain
she opened the door
ran out of the house
and caught the next train
never to be seen again

The Strange Man in the Hallway

I saw him in the hallway
just beyond the glass
dusty shirt
playing with a ball
bouncing it really fast

he never sleeps
and never eats
and I don’t think
he even drinks

he is a creepy human being

but, wait, is he even human?
If he’s not, then what is he?
I think we should run away from here
until we can think of a remedy

this situation is dangerous
and will be a hazard for the rest of the town
so as much as you want to help, I will have to tell you now
that the answer is no, and you can’t change my mind

we must leave this place of evil
and search again for the light
let’s get out while we still can
I don’t want to die tonight
