Hello, My Poetry and Writing Friends!

Hello, my poetry and writing friends! How are you doing? I hope you are well! Thank you for visiting my poetry and writing blog; I appreciate you! 🙂

Are you like me, where you are trying to find peace in this chaotic world? Do you get overwhelmed or feel weighed down by the stress? In the past, I internalized the world’s pain and couldn’t keep up with that type of pressure.

I pray for peace.

Today’s poem is about memories from being at the lake and all of the sounds and smells that surround it. I have great memories of visiting my grandma’s house when I was young.

Once, my great-aunt said the lake looked like diamonds sparkling in the water, and I have never forgotten her saying that. The lake brings such wonderful memories-enough to last a lifetime.

Memories of Being at the Beach~~Poetry~~

A special memory

sparkling
diamonds
on the water

*

waves of hope
massaging the shore

*

ducks and geese gather
while mighty eagles
confidently soar

*

breezes caress my skin

*

cocoa butter with shea

*

aromas of the divine

*

an ice cream truck
slowly passes by
playing a familiar song

*

my feet play with the golden sand

*

I love
the feeling
of tiny
hot crystals
on my ivory skin

*

I hear frogs sing a song
to all of nature
gathering

*

fish swarm to sunlight
within the deep water

*

children laugh and play
in the distance
as they leap over
the gentle waves

*

fresh strawberry lemonade
a perfect compliment
to the day

*

I find clay from the earth
within the lake
toward the edge

*

it’s amazing

*

I bring it home

*

the sparkling
diamonds
of the waters
etch a memory
in my mind

*

and I am at peace
as I think
of the sounds
and the smells
of the beach
and the wind
in the sun

How about you? Does thinking of the beach bring back a string of good memories for you too? Water brings people together, and the water can calm you even when you are alone.

My dad said that looking at the water made his problems feel smaller, which has always stayed with me.

You are NOT Alone!!!
