I’ve Wronged the Frog

the tethered leather fails to soothe
the lady maybe has to choose
a solid lock eats keys for drink
two trees are smiling in the pink
.
a frail lady bends her knees
the dog spits fire, and jubilee
I’ve wronged the frog, and now in debt
the pond went dry; your shoes are wet
.
I’m stuck in mud; the toll was paid
nature ferments the history made
we tumble down the hill, encaged
the cat purrs at his old suitcase
.
the night throws frozen chocolate roses
water spouts find hope in hoses
time to close the nervous rocking
causing throbbing from knees, squatting
