Hello, My Poetry and Writing Friends! 🖤

I hope you are well! Thank you for visiting my poetry blog. I appreciate you being here!
.

I wrote this poem during a low. The lows make me appreciate everyday life much more after the gloom has cleared.
.
Sometimes I wonder how much having bipolar contributes to my moods. Then I think of the complex PTSD, severe anxiety, borderline, and the other things I don’t want to say and realize that bipolar is just one aspect of this entire mess.
.

My family said I play the victim, so I removed myself from the game. They can’t hurt me anymore and I am finally moving toward a reality of feeling safe.

I Can Feel It~ When Depression Starts to Whisper

will the days turn into weeks

it’s easier when it’s cold outside

feeling grateful for the warmth of home

rather than feeling guilty for remaining indoors

having trouble moving

it’s getting more difficult to smile

everything leads toward when to sleep

no desire to do anything else

knowing this is how depression starts

I can’t trick myself into being mentally well

I must take this time to be gentle

with others and with myself
