Hello, Poetry Friends!

Hello my poetry friends,  and I hope you are well! Things are going pretty OK over here. It’s not too hot, and not too cold, so I’m happy! I live in Idaho, where we have four seasons, and sometimes it’s difficult for me to get used to the weather changes (Ok, it’s all the time!).

Poetry can be therapeutic

The focus today is on self-improvement. Not only can poetry be therapeutic, but you can write a therapeutic story within your poetry. It’s almost like playing out your pain and other emotions on a page.

Today’s poem

Today’s poem is about the renewal of life. It takes place on a mountain, and we let our imaginations go from there. I hope that reading poetry speaks to you as it does for me. If we try, we can find poetry in anything.

Her Awakening on the Mountain ~~Poetry~~
~the journey is worth it~

she claws her way up the treacherous mountain
and makes it to the highest point
as she peers over the other side
she gazes at her brand new life unfolding
welcoming her like the morning sun

birds fly by and sing her a happy song

she sees a lion below
along with its young
and stands in awe
at this miracle
of life

she determines she won’t waste another moment

for now
she knows what it feels like
to truly be wholly alive

and she embraces it
and says thank you to the Creator
as she starts to climb down the other side
headed towards her brand new life

~How does poetry make you feel?~

~Do you write poetry? If so, I would love for you to share! I read all kinds of poetry and would enjoy seeing your work. I like to read and encourage other writers! I especially like to talk to complete beginners, where encouraging them can make all the difference.~ 🙂
