Hello, My Poetry and Writing Friends!

I hope you are well! Thank you for visiting my poetry blog. I appreciate you being here!

The holidays look very different than they used to. As a child, we were surrounded by family, and everything was always busy. This year, things are peaceful.
.
Less family brings sadness, but it also gives me even more reason to cherish my husband and two kids. We can still be a happy family, even with the missing pieces.
.

My heart goes to you if you miss your loved ones this holiday season. May you be comforted this Christmas and always!

Christmas Memories

pennies for presents
wrapping paper made
from newspaper comics
the  candy-filled marshmellow popcorn cake
mimicked bright lights from the Christmas tree
tinsel gleamed under candlelights
the punch bowl never seemed to run out
I loved the cranberry color, with blueberries floating on top
but the most precious moment
before we opened our presents
was when my dad took out the old family bible
and read the Christmas story
it brought everything into perspective
and gave me hope for the future
this hope lives on
to anyone who wants to take part
of the miracle of the love of God
both on Christmas
and every day of the year
