A Good Day for Hope

Sometimes things get so foggy in life they begin to feel hopeless. A dream dies, a health issue arises, or things just don’t turn out the way we thought they would.

I know what it’s like to give up hope. I know what it is like to wonder if  God will ever step in and fix things. It’s super frustrating during the moment, to say the least!

During those times I really didn’t think that things could ever get better again. I couldn’t see the silver lining that people claim situations tend to have. I was angry at God and wanted a moment of relief.

Thankfully those days are in the past, and I am now clinging to the hope that can only be found in our Lord, Jesus Christ.

It’s something that all of us could use more of, especially now- hope. During times like these, where things seem to be so upside down, and we wonder if things will ever return to how they once were, we need to reach out for the one constant thing that will always remain as long as we are still alive- the ability to hope.

Of course, we need to put our hope in the right direction, or it will end up doing us no good. All hope can be found in Jesus Christ, both yesterday, today, and forever.

The Bible is full of verses about putting our hope in God and can be a great encouragement during any time in our lives.

Psalm 71:5,14  You are my hope, O Lord GOD. You are my trust from my youth… I will hope continually and will yet praise You more and more.

Psalm 33:20-22  My soul waits for You, LORD. You are my help and my shield. For my heart will rejoice in You because I have trusted in Your holy name. Let Your mercy, O LORD, be upon me, according as I hope in You.

Jeremiah 17:7  Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is the LORD.

Romans 5:5  Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit which was given to us.

1 Corinthians 2:9   Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.

Knowing that God has prepared for us unfathomable things should leave us with a daily sense of awe and wonder. We have something to look forward to that will last an eternity. It will not compare to the hardships we endure here on this earth.

My prayers about the little children around the world who are sick, hungry, and cold-those prayers will be answered someday. Those that suffer here will rejoice in the afterlife.

To know that we have a chance today to hope is an opportunity that many did not wake up with today. As breath radiates through our lungs, let us thank God for giving us another chance at life today. Let’s thank him for another day. Thank him for another chance to hope. Let us thank him for this chance to trust in Him.

Don’t forget to put your hope in Him today!

Until next time, stay safe, and be blessed! 🙂
