Witnessing A Crime

I know you were there
and that you saw it all happen
this makes you partially responsible
for the ending outcome
you must confess
and tell them everything you know
if you don’t
you won’t be able to sleep or let it go
it’s a shame you had to witness a crime
but you will learn to heal in time
for now, you must disclose every detail
don’t leave anything out
you need to work together
to figure this out
try to be grateful you made it through
and did the best you knew how to do
the future holds something brighter than this
so don’t give up
there is more to life
and I don’t want you to miss it

I Don’t Like Your Humor

your arrogant sarcasm is greatly wasted
on me as much as your so-called humor
sadly, what you need is a bad joke interpreter
when you think you’re being funny
everyone else looks confused
it’s a shame to see someone
who is so completely clueless
I used to try and turn my head
and let you humiliate yourself
but now I don’t think it’s fair
and think you might need some help
you always wonder why people
don’t seem to click with you
and deep down
I think you know the brutal truth
your humor is wasted
not because people don’t like to laugh
they just don’t understand your jokes
and I know this will make you sad
but masking cruelty as joking
is not working for you
and no one appreciates
what you are putting them through
the good news is that you don’t need
to continue this behavior
and can learn a different
more light-hearted type of humor
one where no one else has to suffer
