Another old poem that fades in the distance. Another footprint lifted off of the canvas. Another tear to cry. Another year to be reborn.

We Are Not

our time doesn’t really exist 
you live in a different realm 
I can pin you up on a board 
or feel vibrations from
the waves that you make 
but I can’t reach out and touch you
or make you feel real enough
to get to a place that makes any sense 
I am left with more questions than answers
so I leave you locked inside of my mind
surrounded by barriers meant to ignore
sometimes I think it’s better
if we keep our distance
so we don’t further fracture
what is already bent
