The Dance
sitting by the lake
I ponder
about anything and everything
seeing bubbles spring up throughout the water
wondering where they originated from
maybe from a little creature
like a turtle or a fish
I wished they would make themselves known
and soon got exactly what I had wished
the turtles started circling
they danced along with snails
a bird flew down
from the sky
to try to find a meal
I saw a fish begin to jump
I watched a bird try to
snatch it up
and suddenly the fish
opened up its mouth
and said to the bird
“would you like to dance?”
and so the bird agreed and began
to walk along the water
tickling the fish
oh what a dance
what a glorious dance
they all synchronized in layers
I was amazed at this opportunity
to see a dance of different creatures
who usually didn’t associate with each other
it made me start to wonder
if these animals could get along
maybe we as diverse people
can all join together someday as one
