Hello, My Poetry and Writing Friends! 🙂

I hope you are well! Thank you for visiting my poetry blog. I appreciate you being here!

Something I have been working on is learning to accept change. In life, people come and go, and circumstances evolve, transform, and even disappear. Much is out of our control, but one thing we can control is who and what we allow into our lives.

Whether it be people, things, or ideas, we can choose to engage with peace or chaos. Today, I choose peace, but even peace comes at the expense of sacrifice.

Saying no to people or not allowing them in our lives can seem harsh to others, but if you must throw away your peace to pursue a relationship, is it worth it? Personally, I think not. My poem today reflects this.

I’m Gone

everything’s different
without you here
when you wake in the morning
and look into the mirror
do you smile at yourself
or deep inside, shed a tear
I can’t keep moving forward
with your voice in my ear
I must protect you from hurting me

more than I can bear
