Hello, My Poetry and Writing Friends! 🙂
I hope you are well! Thank you for visiting my poetry blog. I appreciate you being here!
Today’s poem is about my little chihuahua, Umi. Our family got her as a rescue, and she has melted all of our hearts. She’s like a little baby and makes the cutest noises when she’s trying to communicate. I love it when we get home, and she’s in the window, barking with all of her might. Another bonus is that she and our other dog, Annie are best friends! I hope to have them for many years to come. 🙂

I Am the Lucky One
you stole the keys to my heart
and have locked yourself inside
.
I can’t imagine life without you,
and I don’t want to try
.
I remember the day
when we first met
.
you were a pile of nerves
as I held you in my arms
.
you gave me
a big wet, doggy kiss
.
and I know I am the lucky one–
to have you in my life
