A Promise
I walk toward your light
and feel pulsing through my chest
just like a parade with the drums
and the horns beating through
me like a song to my soul
I feel my mind cushioned with doubt
but I block it out as I walk forward
you want me to trust in your love
so I reach out to you
and close my eyes
you give me your gentle hand
and tell me you will be with me for
the rest of my life
