Hello, My Poetry Friends!🖤
I hope you are well! Thank you for visiting my poetry blog. I appreciate you being here!
Today’s poem talks about unforgiveness, and how it can turn into a sickness. Thankfully, Jesus can help us to forgive others and can start to mend our brokenness.
Call out to Him and He can change your heart!

When A Heart Changes
a bitter sickness came over me one morning
one only God could truly mend
restless, I rose from my warm bed
and had to examine my afflicted spirit
I gazed upon all the ugliness
residing in my anguished heart
I froze within the moment
and withered in my form
first, I tried to disregard the feelings
replacing them with meaningless rationalizations
to no avail, I could not relieve my desperation
or the tortuous thoughts within my justifications
finally, I sat down to write a letter
and with my pen, I poured my sickness onto the paper
in it, I asked my adversary to forgive me
and as I wrote, my spirit forgave my enemy
such an apparent release of negative energy
as I petitioned them to grant me mercy
I felt my heartbeat softer within me
and pressure disintegrated from my head
so grateful to God for alleviating my sickness
now knowing not doing so would have expanded my pain
for my heart needed cleansing from deliberate unforgiveness
and now, I feel tranquillity once again
