Hello, Poetry Friends!❤️
I hope you are well! Thank you for visiting my poetry blog. I appreciate you being here! I like to use poetry to express myself. I can’t even remember when I wrote my first poem. I used to store my old poetry under my bed. I stored them up until my house burned down in 2001.
It hurt to know all of my poetry had been ruined. I hadn’t backed anything up on a computer because back then I wrote everything out by hand. Anything I have now was written after 2001. Thankfully God kept in me that passion to write, and to learn.
One thing I have always struggled with is accepting that God loves me. With all of my sin, shame, and regret, it’s hard to understand how He could still love me, but the Bible says that He loved us even in our sins.
Romans 5:8
8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
1 John 4:9-10
9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.
10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
We are able to love because He loved us first.

Journey Toward The Father
he saw my numerous foolish ways
I attempted to conceal my face before him
no excuses could be made
for my heart and soul laid bare before me
amidst a withered and dry land
of complete despair
I pleaded with him to cast me away
I could not see a resolution for my actions
I begged him to destroy my very being
yet he looked down upon me patiently
how could one be so magnificent
to paint the stars up in the sky
and to control the very whistling of the wind
how could one be so full of love
that one thousand years could not even contain it
I could not handle any more of his majestic presence
and dove into the pit of neverending destruction
he caught me with his mighty hand
and held me gently above the great abyss
I could not justify my ghastly behaviors
yet he blotted out my hopelessness
and assured me with his loving-kindness
that he would never let me go
he set me free with his unfailing mercy
he is my only aspiration
he let me see his tenderness in motion
my beloved God
and my Creator
I’ll praise him now and forevermore
my everlasting Savior
