A Perfect Day

I can’t be there
so I might as well imagine it
a soft breeze
along a white sandy shore
birds singing out
beyond the bright horizon

sunlight on my skin
so warm and comforting
feeling the soft sand between my toes
skipping smooth rocks across the water
jumping in to take a swim

cool water brings the feeling of renewal
laying out to dry off on the shore
I live this perfect day within my mind
