Happy Thursday!
Hello, hello, hello, and happy Thursday! I hope you are well! It seems crazy that the weekend is right around the corner. This week is flying by faster than I can wrap my mind around. The weather is changing fast too. I think it’s supposed to reach around 80 degrees here today which is quite a change compared to the rain we had a few days ago. We even had some flooding last week that flooded a part of our house, which was a ton of fun… 😉
Something must be in the air because my cats are going bonkers this morning! Lol
Today’s Poem
Today’s Poem was inspired by a story in the Bible where the woman applied perfume to Jesus’ feet. It is not a depiction of the actual story, just inspired by it. Here we go!
A Forever Friend
With an alabaster box beside her
Weeping as she kissed his feet
Ridicule threatened to end her
As they rebuked her love for him
They chastised her, saying, “Never return!”
She went trekking along paths less taken
Thorny reeds pricked through soles beneath
She would do anything to get back to him
Anything to get back to him
Even to see one more glimpse of him
Drinking upon the blood of sorrows
Mourning losses of yesterdays
Fearing he may be gone forever
Head hanging low, she continued on
Searching for her forever friend
Like a sheep without a shepherd
Wandering through a darkened path
Her soul felt empty as she went farther
For her forever friend, she longed to find
Finally, amidst the darkness
A figure appeared beyond the mist
A silhouette, oh so familiar
Could this truly be the one she sought?
Running like her feet were flaming
Faster than the wind itself
Joining with her lifelong kindred
Love won once more, as they embraced
A forever friend, no longer missed
Reach out if you ever need someone to talk to. 🙂
Until next time, stay safe, and be blessed!
