Even though kindness is not always appreciated, it’s never wasted. There are mean people everywhere who can’t figure out how to treat others.
.

I have very few people in my life. When I walked away from my family of origin, I lost a lot of people but gained something I lacked before- self-respect.
.
When I was busy trying to please my family, I made myself so low that I fell through the floor.
.
I won’t allow anyone to treat me like my family treated me. I will walk, run, or fly away. I’m not here to win, I’m here to survive until my time has come.

I Won’t Follow You

my smile was not wasted
kindness will rain no matter what
you can’t destroy what I have built
or try to ruin my countenance
if you want to leave, I welcome it
I will not force myself on anyone
I would rather be alone than lied to
I won’t follow you or try to win
