Pay Attention to Who You Allow In Your Life
they say it’s better to lower your expectations
then to be hurt by broken dreams and false hopes
some people exceed the distance on the lever
and there is no looking back after cutting ties
how do you know the difference?
if hurt is attached to multiple souls
you must think of all individuals involved
if it will destroy someone for you to remain in another’s life
you need to be sensitive to that person’s process
It’s not fair to betray another
after they have already been damaged
now all you can do is help them build a new safe place
and pay attention to who you allow into your life

Soul-Suckers
some people can smile and spew honey while they are bottling up venom
handing you a beautiful flower when the smell is poison
their smile is smooth as silk
and their eyes penetrate the good parts of your soul
they attempt to devour and drown out
the light shining within you
jumbling up the pieces in your puzzle
they had no business touching from the beginning
a lie is their truth, and they say it without a shift in thought
you can never trust them
whatever you do, do not end up getting caught in their web
run for your life before they try to suck away
any energy you have left
