Shining Light on Humanity
it’s sad to see
so many people
in disbelief
of having
hope for
society
if we can open
our hearts
to see
the good
in others
we can be
a better
version
of ourselves
and shine our light
on humanity
~Poetry is NOT dead!~
A New Beginning
I know what it’s like to lose hope
I know what it’s like to stop caring
to be sprawled out on the floor
with no energy to get up again
I know what it’s like to beg for the end
and what it is like to feel desperate
it’s a darker place that I can explain
and it’s no reason to look down on anyone
all we need to do is breathe the next breath
hang on just until the next moment, and then the next
once we muster the strength to stand up again
and give ourselves life’s essentials
we can begin our journey toward healing
and the misery of the past can start to be behind us
