That Girl
a poem about mania
remember that day
when you opened
up the closet
and found yourself
choosing brightly
colored clothing
and you put on
that hat
that made you
look like
a country girl
soon you
called up
a cab
and took a ride
without paying
then you went on
parading your clothes
in front of
glass doors
what a silly
sight you were
who was that girl
do you know her
and will you
ever see her
again
who knows
but if you
find yourself
choosing brightly
colored clothing
ever again
just remember
a few dollars
next time
to pay the cab
