Happy Monday!!!
Hello, hello, hello, and happy Monday! The weekend flew by, and here we are again entering a brand new week full of endless possibilities. Though there is a great deal of darkness overshadowing our world right now, hope can always be found not only in the little things but when looking at the big picture; I’m talking about eternity.
Sometimes I forget that there is more to life than the here and now and when I get stuck in that mindset it can get quite depressing. Thankfully because of what Jesus has done for us we can look forward to an unimaginable eternity full of wonderful things if we put our trust in him. This leads me to today’s poem.
Today’s Poem
Today’s Poem is about the ageing process and how fun that can be. 😉
Sometimes it’s easy to forget that we don’t have to be stuck with ageing skin and a body that is slowly becoming run-down. Death is not the final picture in our lives, and we have so much more to look forward to within the scope of eternity. It’s a breath of fresh air to remember the great things that God has planned for us once we leave this world if we trust in His Son.
Here we go!
This is Not the End
Looking into the mirror
Seeing myself looking back at me
Noticing the effects that ageing brings
And feeling a sense of hopelessness
About mostly everything
Thinking of the years that had passed
And knowing I couldn’t get them back
Something stopped me in my tracks
And I remembered once again
That there was something more
This wasn’t going to be the end
An eternity awaited
Which would bring renewal
And a new life
No more lines across my face
No more pain that couldn’t be erased
Instead, a new existence of hope and peace
Filled with love that would never cease
And as I looked in the mirror again
I chose to think of my reflection as my friend
And I could face the day again
Knowing this was not the end
It’s so good to know that there is something more beyond this life. No matter how many years are behind us that we wish we could redo or return to, it helps to know that the best is yet to come.
Until next time, stay safe, and be blessed!
