Hello, My Poetry and Writing Friends!
Hello, my poetry and writing friends! How are you doing? I hope you are well. Welcome to my poetry and writing blog. I am so glad you are here!
Today’s poem is about going through a process of growth. I have rebelled against this my entire life, but I think it’s time I mature in certain ways. In other ways, I can still have my childlike curiosity and gentle spirit.

They Can Choose Freedom

don’t try to fix me
I am going through a process
it could take some time
and though I appreciate
you being by my side
I need to learn my own lessons
and take responsibility for my own actions
I need to grow up and mature
it’s time
time to be who I am meant to be
time to know and self reflect
loving myself and having compassion
and empathy for others
a perfect combination of flaws mixed with love
the people look up and have hope once again
because they can follow this same path
they can choose freedom
Having freedom is attainable. I used to be trapped in such a cycle of anxiety I couldn’t find my way out. Now I know that peace exists, and I want to fight for it. As long as we don’t give up, there is hope!
