Hello, my Poetry and Writing Friends!

Today’s poem is about our choices and how they affect us. When I am in my right mind, I make pretty good choices, but I am much more impulsive when I have a manic episode. I hope that if I ever have another episode, I will have trained my heart and mind to make better decisions. The joys of having bipolar disorder! 🙂

The Puzzle Of Life
life is an intricate puzzle
a mixture of separate actions
with thoughts and different emotions
some thoughts without feelings
and actions without reasons
causing consequences
whether being, permanent or temporary
some choices don’t seem to lead to anything
but others follow us endlessly through the night
and keep haunting us straight into the morning
we must try to think before speaking or acting
so the choices we make won’t be distracting
us from the impact we want to be making
in this world where we can keep creating
our own reality as we strive to live in harmony
putting the puzzle pieces of life together more perfectly
more like the way most of us would like to be
