Hello, My Poetry and Writing Friends!🖤

The last time I saw my dad was Father’s Day, 2006. He then got killed in a horrible accident the next day. I will never forget our walk during our last morning together. We enjoyed nature and each other’s company.
.

I am so blessed to have been able to spend Father’s Day with my Dad that weekend.

The Day I Lost You

a day I’ll never forget
a series of events
I wish didn’t exist
the shards of my heart
were smashed onto the floor
and I didn’t see anything
that made any sense
I went on a walk through the rain
pouring my heart out
to God, up above
and I knew someday things
would be made right again
feeling a sense of peace
as he showered down His love
