Today’s poem released me from a night full of desperate frustrations. To read it again makes me very glad I am not back in that mind space. Writing is such good therapy!

Staying Away

night has a sweetness
without you here
though I have cried
into the abyss
of neverending sadness
I don’t taste the vinegar
you poured all over
my bleeding tongue
as I rewind the times
that hurt the most
it reminds me why
I must stay away
from the prison
you create
