She Said Goodbye too Soon

Happy Friday!!!

Hello, hello, hello, and Happy Friday! I hope you have a wonderful day today and a fabulous weekend. 🙂 Today is a very different day for me because it is my first day going back to work after fifteen whole years! I still can’t believe it! I am both excited and nervous, but I know that God has got my back so no matter what happens I know that everything will be OK.

Today’s Poem

Today’s Poem is about my best friend who passed when I was in Highschool- Natalie Ingrid Mace. She truly lived her life to the fullest while on this earth for the short time she had. Natalie could light up any room she went into and had so much life in her it was hard for part of me not to die when she left this earth.

This poem is called, “She Said Goodbye too Soon.” It still hurts to think of how long I have had to live without her. Even though it has been around 24 years since she left, I can still imagine her presence just as clear as day. Until I see her again in Heaven, I will cherish her memory, and any dream with her in it (I love those ones!). I am sure that everyone can relate in some way to this poem because we have all lost someone in one shape or form. Here we go…

She Said Goodbye too soon

She Said Goodbye too soon

She said goodbye too soon

Even the sky cried as

She blamed the tears running

Down her face on the rain

She said goodbye too soon

She said goodbye too soon

Looking back on days passed

Thinking of her eyes

Looking in the mirror to reveal

What she saw when she looked at me

She said goodbye too soon

Will the agony ever end

How can I go on without my only friend

She said goodbye too soon

Yet I couldn’t blame the ending on her

Stuck in the muck of reality once more

She said goodbye too soon

Looking back on the joys of times past

Holding time in my hand

Regretting the nights I slept

For if I had stayed awake

I could have been with her

She said goodbye too soon

She said goodbye too soon

So where am I now in this lonesome world

Holding tears in my hand as a shrine

Where to go, what to do, who to call

All alone without her

She said goodbye too soon

Anger almost arises even though

When she left she didn’t know that her last day

Was upon both of us

She said goodbye too soon

She said goodbye too soon

A flower reveals another day will pass

Another day of heartache and time going by

For what will the future be like without

A friend who encapsulated

Everything I ever wanted

She said goodbye too soon

She said goodbye too soon

Yet the sun keeps on rising

And the moon keeps on shining

The stars keep their alignment

Where is she now

All I can think about is how

She said goodbye too soon

Continuing on almost robotically

Going through motions with heavy feet

Wondering how this could ever be

Something not so painful inside of me

She said goodbye too soon

She said goodbye too soon

How selfishly I think of me

Not others who miss her too

He cries for her as well

That pigheaded fool

He never deserved her

She said goodbye too soon

I must let it go for

I cannot control it

What happened cannot be changed

It cannot be written again

She is gone and all I know is that

She said goodbye too soon

Until next time, stay safe, and be blessed!
