~Poetry is NOT dead!~
~Poetry is for everyone!~
~Happy Poetry!~

Hello, My Poetry and Writing Friends!:)
I hope you are well! Thank you for visiting my poetry blog. I appreciate you being here!
.
I have been going through some stuff, and it has come to my attention that I have been dishonest with my feelings.
.
Often, I repress my feelings to please others, and if it means comforting them, I am more likely to choose to comfort them than to whine about my situation. This can add up to a bunch of emotions sitting in the storage bin, waiting to be addressed.
.
I do not recommend hiding your feelings. It leads to trouble on all sides.
~I hope you enjoy today’s poem~

No Longer Can I Run~~Poetry
I know where
you go to hide
the secrets
of your soul
.
the dimensions
that you climb
and the tricks
you play with other
people’s minds–
even your own
.
I know how
you keep your
mouth closed
at the wrong times
and the prickly
leaves you keep
right underneath
your tongue
.
I’ve been burned
so many times
and I let you cover
up my eyes
as I turned in
the other direction
.
but what did it do for me? for you?
.
it created
the monster
I now have
before me
.
no, not you–
this mountain
in front of me
.
I should have
been honest
from the beginning,
but I didn’t want
to hurt your feelings
.
I have to forgive
myself for hiding
behind my compassion
.
I couldn’t address
the truth, yet
.
no longer can I
run from any of it

~Thanks for reading, and until next time, stay safe, and be blessed!~ 🙂
