Making A Change
venturing out into foreign territory
seeing strange surroundings rushing towards me
not wanting the drama, the lies or abuse
appreciating the freedom to have the right to choose
for myself and for my family we no longer have to suffer
and even though it hurts to have to separate from each other
it’s the healthy thing to do for every one of us
cutting people out of our lives who are toxic and those who continue to hurt us
Realization
when she realized her chains were broken
she reached her fingers upward
and flew toward her destiny
knowing she would never let anyone
cage her again

you need to let me out of here
no one cages me but myself
I no longer want to be controlled by you
and will never ask you again for help
everything has a cost with you
and your words usually have a double meaning
I never know if what you say is true
and usually end up walking away, fuming
it’s not good for you, and it’s not good for me
in time you will see that by letting go, we set each other free
