Hello, My Poetry and Writing Friends!

.

Hello, my poetry and writing friends! How are you doing? I hope you are well! 🙂

.

I have been a little down and out, but I am sure I will bounce back in a few days.
.
Sometimes I forget how interconnected our bodies are with our brains. I tend to get instantly sick when I am stressed, which can affect me for days. Can you relate at all?

.

Today’s poem is about not caring what others think. It’s easier said than done!

It Doesn’t Matter What They Think

.

they might think I am unstable
they might think that I am strange
.
they  might think it’s unusual
that I mostly hide away
.
they might think I am a coward
they might think that  I have lost
.
it’s difficult to explain
about what bothers me the most
.
even though some people
might think these things of me
I try never to hurt another soul
and live life peacefully
.
and though I have a lot to work on
and though I am not very brave
there’s something somewhere
deep inside me
that wants to make a change
.
I want to inspire others
and tell them they are not alone
and show comfort to the ones
who can’t ever go back home

.

we will have a season of pain
scattered with memories
that might never completely go away

.

but we don’t need to dwell
on the hurt forever
we can move on
and in the end, be better
than we ever were before

.
for we were born for this moment
to live a life that’s free
now, let’s try to embrace it
and live together peacefully

and remember
no matter what
that it doesn’t matter
what they think

I have learned that it not only hurts others when we retaliate in any way, but it hurts ourselves. We never come away from an argument a better person. It’s harder to make peace, but the more we choose peace, the more we grow.
.
That doesn’t mean we keep the people in our lives who won’t stop hurting us, but we can leave them in peace and let them go in peace. Whatever we do, let it be done peacefully.
.
~Thanks for reading, and until next time, stay safe, and be blessed!~ 🙂
