Hello, My Poetry and Writing Friends!

Hello, my poetry and writing friends! How are you doing? I hope you are well! Thank you for visiting my poetry and writing blog; I appreciate you stopping by. Whether you are a writer, reader, or even a seeker, I want to welcome you!

I don’t know about you, but I often can’t handle watching the news. I used to carry the weight of the world’s pain, which became too much to bear. I hate being out of touch with world events, but I never know what to believe on the news when I watch it; that’s a whole other story!

Even without watching the news, I experience nightmares and take medication to try and wipe them out. The medication usually does its job, but nightmares still break through sometimes.

Watching the news could create more nightmares with all the world’s hardships.

I pray for peace.

Today’s poem is about… I don’t really want to give it away. I hope you enjoy this poem!

Happy Poetry!

It’s a spinning circle in my mind

Photo by Ulla Shinami on Unsplash

things of dreams
and circumstances
where I can’t find
my way out

*

leaving my mind
continually focussed
on my irrational doubts

*

frantically running
miles through
this reckless
madhouse

*

the dogs and cats beg to enter
while he’s throwing objects
and trying to keep me in here

*

I run down the hallway
and see Natalie’s picture
and blood drips
down her face

*

it’s too late
the image is imprinted
in my mind
it will remain

*

I’m horrified
what a cruel site

*

I need to make it out of here
I feel like I might die tonight

*

finally
I run outside
as the animals swarm

*

I warn the others
not to meet my same fate

*

I wake in fright
and meet a new day

*

another nightmare
survived
again

*

another day
to recover

~Poetry is NOT dead!~

This poem stemmed from the bad dream I had last night. I woke up and didn’t want to go back to bed, but instead, I woke up my husband, who was so sweet to me. I appreciate my husband so much; he treats me with such love, and I am truly grateful. Although I don’t like having nightmares, I like the comforting part.

*

How about you? Do you have bad dreams, or remember your dreams at all? I like to talk about dreams. I go through phases where I don’t remember my dreams, and then a bad dream will hit me like a hammer.

*

Thankfully, bad dreams are just dreams. I think sometimes bad dreams are cruel jokes our brains play on us when our brains are bored. Who knows, though, because I can’t ask my brain!
