Hello, My Poetry and Writing Friends!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hello, my poetry and writing friends! How are you doing? I hope you are well! Thank you for visiting my poetry and writing blog. I like to share poetry and the occasional personal story or thoughts. I want to welcome you here! 🙂
Today’s poem is about how it feels when people badger you about your mental illness. It’s aggravating, and it’s not necessary because if you have people in your life that do this, you might want to rethink those relationships. I lived around people for many years who put me under a manic mental illness microscope, and no, thank you! Do you feel me? 🙂
I hope you enjoy today’s poem. Happy Poetry! 🙂
This is the face I make at all the people who looked down on me for having a mental illness or for just being me!
I Think You Have Bipolar, And
We Are Going To Punish You For It
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

assorted attire
for your every mood

they watch as your entire
color scheme changes

don’t try to disintegrate the narrative
or lessen your responsibility
just because you didn’t sleep

we’ve all been there

take your medicine

who cares what it’s
doing to you and your brain

we won’t love you if you go insane

so you better listen to your doctor
but especially listen to us
since we have the best advice
and we’ll probably call the cops
just to be nice

This is how I feel now. 🙂

We can all set boundaries, and as the great Dr Phil says, we can “teach people how to treat us.”

I hope you have a wonderful day! Thanks for reading, and until next time, stay safe, and be blessed! 🙂
