Today’s poem comes from a place of heartache mixed with confusion. On days like this, I am grateful I have the opportunity to rest.
I Need to Rest
my eyes look beyond the tears
I pluck out the feathers of my fears
I don’t know how to stand up
my mind’s on the ground, and I’m feeling stuck
I swim in the sea of my soul
treading for water, trying to feel whole
my heart beats within its own pain
so scared of the chaos obstructing my way
I need to rest in my sorrow
so I have the strength to face another tomorrow
