Welcome, My Poetry and Writing Friends!

Hello, my poetry and writing friends! How are you doing? I hope you are well! Thank you so much for visiting my blog. I appreciate your presence! I want to welcome you, no matter why you decided to stop by.

Today’s poem stems from a collective experience. Maybe you can relate in some way. I will let you see for yourself. 🙂

I Know Hatred When I See It, And It’s Not Very Pretty~~Poetry~

heat rises
just like your lies
rise to the surface

*
eventually

*
you despise me
I can hear it in your words
and the way you say my name
*
with such hatred
*
your eyes rob you
of the kindness of your words
*
I feel the fire in your breath
and sense your rage
just beneath the surface
*
I turn away
once again
for I cannot bear
to see the way
you look at me
*
I know hatred when I see it
*
I laugh again
and find solace in
the truth

*

now I realize that I am worth it
even though you said
I didn’t deserve it

*

I’ll blot you out from my thoughts
and build from this wasteland
that you left of my heart

Sadly, we see this type of hate all through our world. I pray for peace and for people to all come to the realization that kindness should be our collective culture.
