From The Moment I Saw You…~~Poetry

from the moment
I saw you walking toward me
I knew I wanted to be yours

you had a glow about you
and I wanted to know you more

little by little, we chipped away at the barriers
even though so many obstacles were in our way
we muddled through the trenches
and faced the day as warriors
ignoring  what others had to say

we managed to make it through the storms
and kept going when there seemed to be no hope

with you, my life has been transformed
and now, together, we both can grow

we will become as strong as steel
and no one will be able to touch us

and together, we both can heal
from all the times they tried to crush us
