Hello, my poetry and writing friends! I hope you are well. Thank you for visiting my poetry blog. I appreciate you being here!
~I hope you enjoy today’s poems~
Fear
I gave myself away until I was just an empty vessel
not listening to my mind or respecting my body
never knew what innocence felt like
I was always too busy
trying to survive until the next tragedy
so scared, as a child
listening to lies coming straight from the devil
making me afraid of the dark
and everything that comes with it
any movement meant a demon
my eyes had a mind of their own
my mouth betrayed me, as usual
I stepped into a realm I didn’t belong in
and I don’t think I will ever
get rid of these fears that consume me
~Poetry is NOT dead!~
Confusion
I still haven’t figured you out
you say one thing and do another
I don’t know if I gave you the wrong impression
or if I am a person you feel you cannot trust in
but if you are not going to do what you said
why keep dancing around the subject
stop avoiding me when I have a question
I am here any time you need me
it would be nice if you could return the favor
I try to be genuinely interested in what you have to say
I give you so much of my time
when I need something, suddenly you are nowhere to be found
I know life isn’t fair, but I need to stop doing this to myself
I can choose not to engage or be a part of your games
if I could figure out a better way to communicate–
but there are only so many words I can say
nothing is resolved, but I will address this another day
