I have trust issues, meaning I don’t trust anyone (except God). I also don’t like to make promises unless I know I can keep them.

My promises are few and my ability to connect to others remains to be……………and for good reason.

I don’t know who I wished to erase from my life in this poem, but I am sure it soothed me when I wrote it.

Cancelled

sometimes I think you have been planning
plotting to take my peace of mind
or could you just be pretending
that things will somehow work out right
no matter what you’re thinking
I can’t forget your lies
I will not let you hurt me
I will not let you see me cry
if I could climb a mountain
and somehow press rewind
I would erase our times together
and cancel you out of my life
