Hello, Poetry and Writing Friends!
Hello, and I hope you are well, my poetry and writing friends! We made it through the week, and I am FEELING it! I am tired but know it will pass. I used to get really frustrated when I had less energy, and now I am trying to give myself a break.
In therapy, I got a packet about unreal expectations. I realized that I have unrealistic expectations about myself. I have grace for other people, but not so much for myself. I will work on it, knowing I can change my mindset. Can you relate?
Today’s poem is about a real-life situation that I won’t go into detail about. It made me sad because it involves a child.

A Senseless, Shameful Situation ~~Poetry~
it’s senseless
it’s shameful
a mother who lies
about her child
just to get back
at her former lover
leaving her son
in a padded room
locked away without
the ones he loves
and leaving him to cry
for the one he thought
loved him as well
it’s senseless
it’s shameful
and it should
never be
This brought back memories of being locked up in the psych ward. It also makes me think of how messed up it is for people to call the police and get someone locked up when they could be handled at home. Sometimes people need to be in these places, but other times they don’t.
I hope no one has ever done anything like this to you, and if they have, then I am genuinely sorry. I wish you the best and want to encourage you that things can get better!
We need to look out for ourselves and protect ourselves from toxic people. You are not alone because we are in this together!
~Thanks for reading, and until next time, stay safe, and be blessed!~ 🙂
