Hello, Poetry Friends!

I hope you are doing well! We have been having quite a few thunderstorms over here. It’s bittersweet because we need the rain, but my pets freak out about the noise.

Thankfully the thunder has stopped for now so we are in the clear. Today’s poem is about a poem, and what can happen within your mind when you read one.

A Poem about a Poem

~the comfort of poetry~

it’s that poem
you keep
returning to

the one that makes
you feel at home
and paints the picture
of things like
crackling fires
and happily singing
with loved ones

and everyone
joyfully smiles at each other
and some even dancing wildly

and life feels more complete
than it ever has

all within the lines of a poem
that you now place back on the shelf
for the next time 
you start feeling sad and alone

for the memory was merely all in your mind
