Hello, my poetry and writing friends! I hope you are well. Thank you for visiting my poetry blog. I appreciate you being here!
~I hope you enjoy today’s poem~
I Can Vent Today
how could they not believe her
when our worlds were crumbling
how could they not hear her
when a tornado rearranged the scene
were they intentionally blind?
or was it something else?
were they maliciously lying?
just trying to save their own selves?
now, only emptiness remains
in a place that used to bring
so much joy and purpose
to now know it was all fake
makes my swelling heart break
do they care where this has left me?
they all still have each other
but I would rather dance with the devil
then be a part of a team of meanies
that dismiss a child when they are unsafe
who won’t address the issues without being two-faced
I’m done with it, but I can vent about it if I feel like it today
