It’s incredible what words can do. They have the power to spark emotions while, at the same time, expanding our minds. They also have the ability to build us up or destroy us if we let them.
I have had many hurtful words thrown my way over the years, and in one particular instance, the person told me, “They’re just words.” Words can drive people to do careless things, commit crimes, or even decide to end it all. They are not just words- they hold the keys to our understanding. No one on earth can explain the entire complexities of language and how our brain processes it.
If we are honest with ourselves, we know how important our words are and should be careful when using them. In my life, I have found that it takes restraint to control my words, but it’s entirely possible.

move me again
with the stroke

write me a meaningful story
full of twists and turns
fill it with all my desires
with an unforgiving passion
make it exciting
over the top
with plenty of exaggerations
bring to me a dazzling dream
a reason to wonder
what more you have in store for me
take me on an adventure
we’ll set ourselves free
caught in the midst
of a page and some ink
give me your beautiful writing

move me again
with the stroke
of your pen
